〘Noun〙 Gold coins minted by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1588 ( Tensho 16 ). This was the first large gold coin in Japan. There are three types: those from the Tensho era ( 1573-92 ), those from the Bunroku era ( 1592-96 ) and after, and those from the time of Toyotomi Hideyori after 1609 ( Keicho 14 ). There are some differences in appearance, but all of them weigh 44 momme 1 bu (about 165 grams). 〘名〙 天正一六年(一五八八)豊臣秀吉が鋳造させた金貨。日本における大判金はこれに始まる。天正年間(一五七三‐九二)のもの、文祿年間(一五九二‐九六)以降のもの、慶長一四年(一六〇九)以後の豊臣秀頼時代のものと三種があり、外観に多少の相違があるが、重量はいずれも四四匁一分(約一六五グラム)。
