Gakuso - Musical Instrument

〘Noun〙 A stringed instrument. A 13-stringed koto used in gagaku. It was introduced from China. Compared to the common koto, the iso (side of the body) is narrow, so it looks thin. 〘名〙 弦楽器の一つ。雅楽に用いる十三弦の箏。中国渡来のもの。俗箏に比べて磯（胴の側面）が狭いため、薄目に見える。筑紫箏(つくしごと)などに対していう。※社会観察万年筆（1914）〈松崎天民〉蛮カラ列伝「楽箏(ガクサウ)を大阪天王寺の楽人岡昌福に」
