Born in 1669. Son of Omura Sumitada. Followed Toyotomi Hideyoshi in his attack on the Shimazu clan. In 1582, he became the first head of the Omura clan to rule Hizen Omura Domain (Nagasaki Prefecture). He was awarded 21,400 koku. He participated in the Korean expedition and sided with the Eastern Army in the Battle of Sekigahara. He was a Christian but apostatized. In 1609, he carried out the Goichimon-purge, which expelled branch families, and attempted to establish his own power. He died on August 8, 1620. He was 48 years old. His original name was Kizumi.
