Paul Déroulède

French right-wing politician. Born in Paris as the son of a lawyer, he became a lawyer. When the Franco-Prussian War broke out, he volunteered to join the army and participated in the suppression of the Paris Commune, but was injured in a fall from his horse and retired in 1874. During this time, he published a collection of poems, "The Soldier's Song" (1872), which gained him fame as a patriotic poet, and in 1875 published "New The Soldier's Song." In 1882, he founded the League of Patriots with the aim of taking revenge on Germany, but when he saw that the republicans who had established power were moving away from revenge against Germany, he dreamed of establishing a dictatorship based on a referendum, and he actively campaigned for General Boulanger, who had taken revenge on Germany.

フランスの右翼政治家。代訴人の息子としてパリに生まれ，弁護士となった。普仏戦争がおこると志願して参加，パリ･コミューンの鎮圧にも加わったが，1874年落馬によるけがで退役した。この間詩集《兵士の歌》(1872)を公刊して愛国詩人としての名声を獲得し，75年には《新･兵士の歌》を出版した。次いで82年，ドイツに対する復讐を目ざして愛国者同盟を創立したが，権力を確立した共和主義者が対独復讐から遠ざかるのを見て国民投票に基づく専制体制の樹立を夢み，復讐将軍ブーランジェを支持して活発に運動した。
