〘 noun 〙 In the Middle Ages, a representative of the monks at Kofuku-ji Temple in Nara. Twenty capable monks were selected from the monks and appointed. This name comes from the fact that they were subordinates to the Jinbutsu, Gon-betsuto, and Sanno, who were appointed by official appointment. They controlled and dominated the monks, and under the orders of the Jinbutsu, they inspected temples and shrines in the Shichigo and below, and presided over religious ceremonies. The term of office was three years in principle. Official monks. Shuchuu (among the monks) .
