Table Sanza (Table Mountain) - Table Sanza (English spelling) Mensa

Table Sanza (Table Mountain) - Table Sanza (English spelling) Mensa
Abbreviation: Men. A minor constellation near the south celestial pole. A minor constellation newly established by French astronomer N. Lacaille. Lacaille observed the position of the southern stars from 1751-53 at the Cape of Good Hope, the southern tip of South Africa. Table Mountain (1,087m) is a flat rocky mountain on the south side of Cape Town, and clouds always cover the top of the mountain, which are called the tablecloth. The Large Magellanic Cloud, also known as the Cape Cloud, is located right next to this area, so this area was named Table Mountain, as it was likened to a tablecloth.

略号Men。
