Tetta [town] - Tetta
A former town in Atetsu District, northwest Okayama Prefecture. It is located on the eastern side of the Hongo River, a tributary of the Takahashi River. Hongo, the town in the center, developed as a blacksmith town that manufactured iron tools for mining at the Yoshioka Copper Mine. Rice farming, forestry, limestone mining, and Wagyu cattle breeding are carried out here. Kawamoto Dam is located in the north. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Niimi City along with Osa Town, Kamigo Town, and Tetsunishi Town in Atetsu District. 107.37 km2 . 4,026 people (2003).

岡山県北西部，阿哲郡の旧町。高梁(たかはし)川の支流本郷川の東部にある。中心の本郷は吉岡銅山の採掘用鉄具製造の鍛冶屋町として発達。米作，林業，石灰石の採掘，和牛飼育が行われる。北部には河本ダムがある。2005年３月阿哲郡大佐町，神郷町，哲西町と新見市へ編入。107.37km2。4026人（2003）。
