This book is a compilation of sermons that revolved around the heart of a recluse who idealized abandoning the secular world and was supported by the idea of going to the Pure Land. It was compiled in the late Kamakura period. It contains over 150 sermons from nembutsu practitioners who were mainly influenced by the nembutsu ideas of Honen (Genku), but there is little interest in doctrine and a shallow understanding of Honen's idea of original vow and other power. However, in a few words and phrases that teach that by nembutsu in the hope of an afterlife, we should let go of our attachment to fame and profit, and limit our life in this world to the bare minimum, there is a sharp paradox against worldly values.
