Japanese: 鶴岡放生会職人歌合 - つるがおかほうじょうえしょくにんうたあわせ

One of the medieval artisan poetry contests. It is set on August 15th at a Hojoe festival at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. It is based on the preceding Tohokuin Artisan Poetry Contest, and follows its format, with 24 artisans appearing on the themes of moon and love. However, compared to the Tohokuin Artisan Poetry Contest, the only occupation that overlaps with the Tohokuin is the Shukuyo-shi, an onmyoji, and most of the artisans have a strong connection to Tsurugaoka Shrine. The judge is the priest of Hachimangu Shrine, and the judgement is in a classical Chinese style, influenced by the Wakan Roeishu. The oldest surviving picture scroll (1 volume) is thought to have been created in the mid-Muromachi period.

中世の職人歌合の一。8月15日，鶴岡八幡宮における放生会での歌合という設定。先行する《東北院職人歌合》を意識し，その形式をうけついで月･恋の題で24種の職人が登場。しかし《東北院職人歌合》に比すると，職種では宿曜師が《東北院》における陰陽師に重なるのみで鶴岡社に関係の深いものが多い。判者には八幡宮の神主をあて，判詞は漢文調を帯び，《和漢朗詠集》の影響がある。現存の最古本である絵巻(1巻)は，室町中期ころの作と考えられる。
