CW Ceram

German novelist and critic. Born in Berlin under the name Kurt W. Marek, he has served as editor of Die Welt and chief editorial advisor for the Lobold Bookstore. His book Gods, Tombs and Scholars (1949) is a fictionalized account of the last 200 years of archaeological research, and is known for its fascinating descriptions. His other works include The Narrow Valley, the Black Mountain: The Secret of the Hittite Empire (1955), The Ancient History of Gods and Tombs (1955), and The First Americans (1972).

ドイツの小説家、批評家。本名はクルト・マーレクKurt W. Marekで、ベルリン生まれ。『ディー・ウェルト』紙編集、ローボルト書店主任編集顧問などを務める。『神・墓・学者』（1949）は最近200年の考古学研究を小説化したもので、興味深い記述で知られる。ほかに『狭い谷　黒い山――ヒッタイト帝国の秘密』（1955）、『神と墓の古代史』（1955）、『最初のアメリカ人』（1972）など。
