CW Ceram

German novelist and critic. Born in Berlin under the name Kurt W. Marek, he has served as editor of Die Welt and chief editorial advisor for the Lobold Bookstore. His book Gods, Tombs and Scholars (1949) is a fictionalized account of the last 200 years of archaeological research, and is known for its fascinating descriptions. His other works include The Narrow Valley, the Black Mountain: The Secret of the Hittite Empire (1955), The Ancient History of Gods and Tombs (1955), and The First Americans (1972).
