Kabuki playwright. In "Kuchi Shamisen Touhensha Shitatsu" (Kuchi Shamisen Answering Actor Shitatsu), "Tsuuchi" is pronounced "Tsuuts". (1) First Generation: Date of birth and death unknown. He started out as a Kabuki actor in the Chikahito category, but in the early Genroku period (1688-1704) he was recognized as a playwright in Osaka, and some of his Kyogen plays remain, including "Nihon Ajatashatu Taishi" (1694, Iwai-za). In 1700 (Genroku 13), he moved to the Edo Ichimura-za, and in 1701 he had success with "Empress Jitō Moves the Capital" and "Kyosei Nyubo Sakura". He skillfully incorporated the special skills of the actors into his plays, but his distinctive feature is that he often borrowed ideas from other Kyogen plays.
