Chen Ziyong - Chin Sugo

A Chinese poet of the early Tang dynasty. He was from Shehong, Zizhou (Shehong County, Sichuan Province). His courtesy name was Boyu. Born into a wealthy family, he loved the chivalrous spirit in his youth, but from the age of 18 he devoted himself to his studies, and passed the Jinshi examination in 682 (Kaiyo 2), or according to some sources, 684 (Bunmei 1). After serving as a regular tutor at Lintai and a military officer in the Right Guard Division, he was promoted to Right Collector in 693 (Changshu 2) and participated in the Khitan campaign, but in 698 (Seireki 1) he resigned and returned home to show his filial piety to his father. After his father's death, he was imprisoned by the county magistrate Duan Jian, who had his eye on his wealth, and died in prison. He criticized the style of poetry that had been influenced by formal beauty since the Six Dynasties, and advocated the revival of the simple and powerful style of poetry from the Han and Wei dynasties, especially the inclusion of ideological content in the content of poetry, and is highly regarded for paving the way for the prosperous Tang literature of Li Bai and Du Fu. The "Chin Bo Yu Wen Shu" (Collection of Chen Bo Yu Wen) consists of 10 volumes, and his representative work, "Poem of Gratitude," is well known.

中国、初唐の詩人。梓州射洪(ししゅうしゃこう)（四川(しせん)省射洪県）の人。字(あざな)は伯玉。富豪の家に生まれ、少年時代は任侠(にんきょう)の気風を愛したが、18歳ごろより学問に励み、682年（開耀2）、一説には684年（文明1）進士に及第した。麟台(りんだい)正字、右衛率府冑曹(そっぷちゅうそう)参軍を経て、693年（長寿2）右拾遺(うしゅうい)に進み、契丹(きったん)征伐にも加わったが、698年（聖暦1）父に孝養を尽くすため辞職して帰郷した。父の死後、財産に目をつけた県令の段簡に投獄され、獄中で死んだ。六朝(りくちょう)以来の形式美に流れた詩風に批判を加え、漢魏(ぎ)の素朴で力強い詩風の復活、ことに詩の内容に思想性をもたせることを主張して、李白(りはく)、杜甫(とほ)らの盛唐文学に道を開いたことが高く評価される。『陳伯玉文集』10巻があり、代表作「感遇詩」はよく知られる。
