The fourth caliph of the Fatimid dynasty. Reigned from 953 to 975. The first half of Al-Muizz's reign was in North Africa, and he was devoted to fighting the Byzantine Empire for dominance in the Mediterranean. Al-Muizz gained the upper hand in this battle, and the Fatimid dynasty established a stable power in North Africa and the Mediterranean. He then embarked on a plan to conquer Egypt, and in 969 he sent Jawhar (?-991) to conquer Egypt, and in 973 he entered the new capital, Cairo. He attempted to advance into Syria, but died before the project was completed.

ファーティマ朝第4代カリフ。在位953‐975年。ムイッズの治世の前半は北アフリカ時代で，もっぱら地中海の覇権をめぐってのビザンティン帝国との戦いに終始した。この戦いでムイッズは優勢に立ち，北アフリカ，地中海でファーティマ朝は安定した勢力を確立した。その後エジプト征服計画に着手し，969年にジャウハルJawhar(？‐991)を遣わしエジプトを征服したムイッズは，973年に新しい都カイロに入った。シリアへの進出を試みたが，事業半ばにして没した。
