Jeogori - Jeogori

Japanese:
Jeogori - Jeogori

A jacket from the Korean national costume, also called chokuri. Women's kimonos are particularly short and are worn with a type of floor-length skirt called chima (mo). They have the same collar as Japanese kimonos, long sleeves, and are tied with a chest strap. They are usually lined, with silk or cotton on the outside and thin cotton or silk on the inside, but in summer, single-layer kimonos called choksam (red kimono) are worn. Traditionally, white was the norm, but in recent years, more and more colorful kimonos have been worn, and especially since they have been influenced by Western dressmaking techniques, there have been many changes in color, patterns, decorations, and tailoring details, although the basic style has been maintained, and they have come to sensitively reflect fashion. The appearance of women wearing chima is typical of the noblewomen of the Tang Dynasty in China and the Nara period in Japan.
