Ore storage

Japanese: 貯鉱 - ちょこう（英語表記）ore storage

The storage of ore in preparation for the smelting or dressing process, or for the shipment of concentrate, or the storage of ore. The purpose of storage is to ensure quantitative stability for supply or shipment, but it can also be for the purpose of blending ores of different qualities, or for the homogenization of raw materials that vary in quality. There are two ways to store ore: in an open or roofed yard, or in a pit dug into the ground or enclosed area (yard), or in one or more large cylindrical or rectangular containers.

製錬工程･選鉱工程への供給，精鉱の出荷などに備えて鉱石類を蓄えること，または蓄えられた鉱石類。貯鉱の目的は供給や出荷に対する量的安定性を確保することにあるが，さらに品質の異なる鉱石類の配合や，品質的にばらつきの多い原料の均一化を目的とする場合もある。　貯鉱には，野天あるいは大屋根をかけた土場，または地面を掘り下げたり，囲いを設けるなどのやり方でしつらえた場所(ヤードyard)を利用する方法と，円筒形または角筒形の大きな容器を1ないし複数個用いる方法とがある。
