A town in Minamikoma District in southwest Yamanashi Prefecture. Most of the town is mountainous, with the Fuji River flowing south through the center. Minobu, in the center, developed as a temple town for Kuon-ji Temple. National Route 52 runs along the right bank of the Fuji River, and the Minobu Line runs along the left bank. In the center is Shimobe Onsen (simple spring, 28-34 degrees), a national health resort hot spring known as Takeda Shingen's secret hot spring, and it has become a tourist base. In September 2004, Nakatomi Town in Minamikoma District and Shimobe Town in Nishiyatsushiro District were incorporated, and the town hall became the former Nakatomi Town Hall. 301.98 ^km2 . Population 14,462 (2010).

山梨県南西部，南巨摩(みなみこま)郡の町。大部分が山地で，中部を富士川が南流する。中心の身延は久遠(くおん)寺の門前町として発達。富士川右岸に国道52号線，左岸に身延線が通じる。中部に国民保養温泉で武田信玄の隠し湯としても知られる下部温泉（単純泉，28〜34度）があり，観光基地となっている。2004年９月南巨摩郡中富町，西八代郡下部町を編入し，町役場を旧中富町役場とした。301.98km²。１万4462人（2010）。
