Communist Party of Korea

Japanese: 朝鮮共産党 - ちょうせんきょうさんとう

Since the First Korean Communist Party was founded in 1925, it has been called the Korean Communist Party, but the communist movement in Korea was started by Koreans living in Siberia after the Russian Revolution. The Korean Socialist Party, organized by Ri Dong-hui and others in Khabarovsk in 1918, later moved to Shanghai and became the Goryeo Communist Party in 1921. Separately, Bolshevik party member Kim Cheol-hun and others organized the Korean section of the Russian Communist Party in Irkutsk in 1920 (some say 1919), which was renamed the Goryeo Communist Party in 1921. A fierce conflict arose between the former (Shanghai faction), which placed the first priority on national liberation, and the latter (Irkutsk faction), which prioritized socialist revolution, and armed clashes between the two factions occurred in Siberia (the Free City Incident).

1925年結成の第1次朝鮮共産党以降を朝鮮共産党とよぶが，朝鮮の共産主義運動はロシア革命後シベリア在住の朝鮮人によって始められた。1918年にハバロフスクで李東輝らが組織した韓人社会党はのちに上海に移って21年に高麗共産党となった。これとは別にボリシェビキ党員の金哲勲らは20年(19年説もある)イルクーツクでロシア共産党韓族部を組織，21年に高麗共産党に改称した。民族解放を第一の課題とする前者(上海派)と社会主義革命を優先させる後者(イルクーツク派)との間に激しい対立が生まれ，シベリアでは両派の武力衝突(自由市事変)も起きた。
