Zhang Renjie (English name)

Japanese: 張人傑 - ちょうじんけつ（英語表記）Zhāng Rén jié

1877‐1950
A modern Chinese politician and businessman. His pen name was Jingjiang. He was born into a wealthy family in Wuxing County, Zhejiang Province. He worked in finance, railways, publishing and other business sectors. Before the Xinhai Revolution, he founded the anarchist magazine "New Century" in France, became acquainted with Sun Yat-sen and helped fund the revolutionary movement. In 1924, he became a member of the Kuomintang Central Executive Committee, and later became a central figure on the right as a party elder and spokesman for the Zhejiang financial conglomerate. He worked hard to establish and stabilize the Chiang Kai-shek government in Nanjing, and even became Chairman of Zhejiang Province. He was also fond of calligraphy and painting. He died in New York. 中国，近現代の政治家，実業家。字は静江。浙江省呉興県の富家の生れ。金融，鉄道，出版などの実業に従事した。辛亥革命前には，フランスで無政府主義の雑誌《新世紀》を創刊，孫文と知り合い，革命運動資金を援助した。1924年，国民党中央執行委員となり，のち党の長老，浙江財閥の代弁者として，右派の中心人物となり，南京の蔣介石政権樹立･安定のため尽力，浙江省主席ともなる。書画もよくした。ニューヨークで没。【久保田文次】
