AK - A.K.

…But in tragic contrast to this was the Warsaw Uprising in Poland. In Poland, resistance groups supporting the pro-Western government in exile in London were organized within the country early on, and a military organization called the Home Army (AK) was also formed under them. The AK launched a general uprising in Warsaw on August 1, 1944.
