Choshin River - Choshinko

This river flows north along the eastern edge of the Gaema Plateau, known as the roof of Korea, and empties into the Yalu River. It is 261 kilometers long and has a drainage area of ​​6,976 square kilometers. It originates at Xiaomataeryeong on the Gaema Plateau, flows northeast, forms a tributary at Hwangchoryeong, and flows north to Chosin Lake. It flows further north from Chosin Lake to form Nangrim Lake, which merges with the Bujeon River at the northern end of the Yeonhwa Mountains in Nangrim County and empties into the Yalu River. The upper reaches are shallow and have a wide riverbed, but from the middle to lower reaches the river is surrounded by mountains, forming a steep valley bottom.

朝鮮の屋根といわれる蓋馬(かいま)高原の東縁部を北流して鴨緑江(おうりょくこう)に注ぐ川。全長261キロメートル、流域面積6976平方キロメートル。蓋馬高原の小馬岱嶺(しょうばたいれい)に源を発し、東北方向に流れて黄草嶺で支流を入れて北流し長津湖に至る。長津湖からさらに北流して狼林(ろうりん)湖を形成、狼林郡の蓮花(れんか)山脈北端で赴戦(ふせん)江と合流し鴨緑江に注ぐ。上流は河床幅の広い浅瀬であるが、中流から下流は山岳が重なり、急斜面の谷底を形成している。
