Raikin (English spelling) Fulminating gold

Japanese: 雷金 - らいきん（英語表記）fulminating gold

A highly explosive gold compound. Several chemical species have been considered, but all are thought to have Au-N bonds. The first was obtained in 1886 by reacting gold(I) oxide with ammonia, and was thought to have the composition Au ₃ N･NH _3. The gray powder obtained by reacting chloroauric acid HAuCl ₄ with aqueous ammonia was thought to be a mixture of Au ₂ O ₃ ･3NH ₃ and HNAuCl･NH _3. Other examples include Au(OH) ₃ ･3NH ₃ and Au ₂ O ₃ ･2NH ₃ , but neither the composition nor the structure is clear.

きわめて爆発性の高い金の化合物。いくつかの化学種が考えられているが，いずれもAu－N結合をもつと思われる。1886年に酸化金(I)とアンモニアとの反応で得られたものが最初で，Au₃N･NH₃の組成と考えられた。また塩化金酸HAuCl₄とアンモニア水との反応で得られた灰色粉末はAu₂O₃･3NH₃とHNAuCl･NH₃の混合物と考えられた。その他Au(OH)₃･3NH₃,Au₂O₃･2NH₃などがあるが，組成，構造ともに明確ではない。
