…The present name is Yorghan Tepe. However, the site was called Nuzi in the 15th to 12th centuries BC, and Gasur in the late 3rd millennium BC. Excavations were carried out mainly by American archaeologists in 1925-31, and several thousand clay tablets written in Akkadian mixed with Hurrian were unearthed.
