An ideology that is considered the guiding principle of the Workers' Party of Korea and North Korea. It is considered to be an application of Marxism-Leninism to the reality of Korea, and was advocated by Kim Il-sung (Kim Il-sung) from 1966 onwards. According to Kim Il-sung, "Juche" is a human-centered way of thinking that "takes a masterful attitude towards the revolution and construction of one's own country", emphasizing political autonomy, economic independence, and self-defense in national defense. At the same time, it is believed that people need the leader's enthusiastic guidance in order to live independently, and it has become the ideological basis for justifying the personality cult of Kim Il-sung and the successor regime of Kim Jong-il (Kim Jong-il).
