Japanese: イソギンポ(磯銀宝) - イソギンポ（英語表記）Pictiblennius yatabei

A marine fish of the family Blenniidae (illustration) in the order Perciformes. It is found in Fukushima Prefecture on the Pacific coast, and throughout Japan south of Yamagata Prefecture on the Sea of Japan coast, as well as the Korean Peninsula. It is a small fish up to about 10 cm in length, with a somewhat elongated body and no scales. It has one long dorsal fin that runs along almost the entire dorsal edge of the body. Above the eye there is a single skin flap with a large, branched comb-like margin, which is almost equal to the eye diameter in juveniles and females, but is longer in mature adult fish, sometimes reaching about three times the eye diameter. The body color is generally brownish with numerous dark spots, but it varies greatly to adapt to the surrounding conditions.

スズキ目イソギンポ科の海産魚（イラスト）。太平洋側は福島県，日本海側は山形県以南の日本各地，朝鮮半島に分布している。全長約10cmまでの小型の魚で，体はやや細長く，うろこはない。背びれは1基で長く，体の背縁のほぼ全縁に沿ってある。眼の上には縁辺が櫛歯（くしば）状に大きく分枝した1皮弁があり，幼魚と雌では眼径にほぼ等しいが，成熟した成魚では長く，ときに眼径の3倍くらいに達する。体色は一般に茶褐色で，多数の暗色斑があるが，周囲の状況に合わせ変異に富んでいる。
