The last ruler of the Shang dynasty in ancient China. In Shang records, he is recorded as Xin or Shou, and the name Chu was given to him by the people because of his evil deeds. He is said to have been a talented ruler who opened up a vast territory to the east, but the Records of the Grand Historian and other sources say that he loved Daji, but his misrule alienated the people, and he was killed by King Wu of Zhou and perished (around 1050 B.C.).
