...The representative works of this movement are "Les Enfants d'Etudes d'Etudes" (1914) directed by Nino Martorio and "Assunta Spina" (1915) directed by Gustavo Serena, and it is said that no Italian filmmaker has not been baptized by these two works. These two works became excellent teaching materials for the Italian national film school, the "Centro Sperimentare di Cinematografia" (commonly known as "Centro"), and it can be said that the roots of "Neorealism" lie here.
