Chanhu daro (English spelling)

Japanese: チャンフー･ダロ（英語表記）Chanhu daro

Located near Sakland in the Nawabshah district of Sindh, Pakistan, this is a site where the Indus Valley Civilization City Period and other ancient cultures have been discovered. It is also called Chanukhu Daro. It is located about 20 km from the left bank of the Indus River and 120 km south of Mohenjo Daro, and is now divided into three hills due to flood erosion. It was discovered in 1931 and excavated by EH MacKay in 1935-36. There are cultural layers below the groundwater level, but no excavation has been carried out. The cultural layers that have been identified are the Indus Valley Civilization City Period culture and the Djukar and Jangar cultures that overlie them.

パキスタンのシンド州ナワーブシャー地区のサクランド近傍にあり，インダス文明都市期ほかの古代文化が検出された遺跡。チャヌフー･ダロとも呼ぶ。インダス左岸から約20km，モヘンジョ･ダロから南120kmほどに位置し，氾濫の浸食によりいま3丘にわかれている。1931年に発見，35‐36年にE.H.マッケイが発掘。地下水位以下にも文化層が続くが，発掘はおこなわれていない。判明した文化層はインダス文明都市期の文化とその上に重なるジューカル文化，ジャンガル文化である。
