A palace where a legendary Chinese king carried out government affairs. In ancient times, there was a belief that the king would receive the spirit of the sun to visit the feudal lords in the morning and issue government decrees. This is thought to have developed from this belief, and a palace with five rooms and four gates was built on a platform of earth, and morning ceremonies were held in different rooms depending on the time of year. It seems that some people built palaces of this type during the Han dynasty. There is much debate among scholars about its relationship with the Taimiao and Biyong. It is also said that the state of Lu was particularly allowed to govern from a Mingtang hall.
