A group of languages widely distributed in the western part of East Asia, including the Tibet (Xizang) Autonomous Region, Yunnan, Sichuan, Gansu, and Qinghai provinces of China, as well as Myanmar, northern Thailand, Nepal, northeastern India, and Bangladesh.
