A group of languages widely distributed in the western part of East Asia, including the Tibet (Xizang) Autonomous Region, Yunnan, Sichuan, Gansu, and Qinghai provinces of China, as well as Myanmar, northern Thailand, Nepal, northeastern India, and Bangladesh.
[Classification]
It belongs to the Sino-Tibetan (Han-Tibetan) language family and is divided into several groups and families, but there is no consensus on how to classify them. If we were to classify them into five groups and sub-family languages, the representative languages and main distribution areas are listed below. (1) Tibetan group (a) Tibetan family Tibetan, found in the Tibet Autonomous Region, Sichuan, Gansu, Qinghai Province, etc., has five major dialects: central, northeastern, eastern, western, and southern.

　シナ･チベット(漢蔵)語族に属し，数個の語群，さらに語系に細分されるが，その分類にはまだ定説がない。かりに五つの語群と下位語系に分類し，代表言語とおもな分布地を以下にあげる。(1)チベット語群　(a)チベット語系　チベット自治区，四川･甘粛･青海省などに分布するチベット語には，中央部･東北部･東部･西部･南部の五大方言がある。
