Dunlop is a holding company that owns the British tire manufacturer Dunlop Ltd., known as Dunlop, and a subsidiary of sporting goods. Its head office is in London. Its predecessor was the Pneumatic Tyre & Booth Cycle Agency, which was established in 1889 by JB Dunlop, who invented the pneumatic tire in 1887, to produce bicycle tires. In 1900, the company changed its name to Dunlop Rubber Co. when it began producing automobile tires.
