A town in the southern part of the Ise Plain, Watarai County, Mie Prefecture. The town's center is Tamaru, a castle town since the Middle Ages, and the Sangu Line runs through it. It is located near the cities of Ise and Matsusaka, and is a diversified agricultural town that produces fruit trees, vegetables, tobacco leaves, pig farming, and dairy farming. Area: 40.91 km2 .
