Japanese: 竜飛崎 - たっぴざき

A cape located at the northern tip of the Tsugaru Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture, which forms the western entrance to the Tsugaru Strait. It is about 18 km away from Shirakami Cape in Hokkaido on the opposite shore. Sea cliffs and sea caves made of andesite and tuff surround the cape, and the sight of it being washed by the swift tides is spectacular. It is written as "Tatsuhihe" on the Shoho Ezu from the Edo period, and was connected to Kodomari Village (now Nakadomari Town) by boat. In Masumi Sugae's "Sotogahama Tsutahi", it is written as "Tatsuhama". It belongs to Minmaya Village (now Sotogahama Town) and is the starting point of the Seikan Tunnel on the Honshu side.

青森県津軽半島の北端にあり，津軽海峡の西の入口をなす岬。対岸の北海道白神岬との距離は約18km。安山岩と凝灰岩からなる海食崖や海食洞が岬をとりまき，急潮に洗われる光景は壮観。江戸時代の正保絵図に〈たつひへ〉とあり，小泊村（現・中泊町）と船で結ばれていた。菅江真澄の《外が浜つたひ》には〈竜浜〉とある。三厩(みんまや)村（現・外ヶ浜町）に属し，青函トンネルの本州側の基点。
