Copper mineral

A mineral that contains copper as its main component. Copper has a strong affinity with sulfur, so sulfides are the most important. In addition to these, copper forms various compounds such as oxides, hydroxides, carbonates, sulfates, and chlorides, and there are more than 235 known copper minerals. The main ones are native copper (Cu), chalcopyrite (CuFeS 2 ) , cubanite (CuFe 2 S 3 ) , bornite (Cu 5 FeS 4 ) , chalcocite (Cu 2 S), covelline (CuS), arsenopyrite (Cu 3 AsS 4 ) , luzonite (Cu 3 AsS 4 ) , stibioluzonite (Cu 3 SbS 4 ) , tetrahedrite (Cu 12 Sb 4 S 13 ) , tetrahedrite (Cu 12 As 4 S 13 ) , wittichenite (3Cu 2 S･Bi 2 S 3 ) , cuprite (Cu 2 O), chalcopyrite (Cu O), arsenopyrite (Cu 3 (CO 3 ) 2 (OH) 2 ), malachite (Cu 2 (CO 3 )(OH) 2 ) , and malachite (CuSiO 3 ･ n H 2 O, brochantite Cu 4 (SO 4 )(OH) 6 , and atacamite Cu 2 (OH) 3 Cl. 主要成分として銅を含む鉱物をいう。銅は硫黄との親和性が強いので，硫化物がもっとも重要である。このほか酸化物，水酸化物，炭酸塩，硫酸塩，塩化物など種々の化合物をつくり，銅鉱物として235種以上が知られている。そのうち主要なものは自然銅Cu，黄銅鉱CuFeS2，キューバナイトcubanite CuFe2S3，斑銅鉱Cu5FeS4，輝銅鉱Cu2S，コベリンCuS，硫ヒ銅鉱Cu3AsS4，ルゾナイトCu3AsS4，スティビオルゾナイトstibioluzonite Cu3SbS4，四面安銅鉱Cu12Sb4S13，四面ヒ銅鉱Cu12As4S13，ウィッチチェナイトwittichenite 3Cu2S･Bi2S3，赤銅鉱Cu2O，黒銅鉱CuO，ラン銅鉱Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2，クジャク石Cu2(CO3)(OH)2，ケイクジャク石CuSiO3･nH2O，ブロシャンタイトbrochantite Cu4(SO4)(OH)6，アタカマイトCu2(OH)3Clなどである。
