Tatsuta [village] - Tatsuta
A village in Ama County, on the western edge of Aichi Prefecture. Population 8,353 (1995). Located in the southern Nobi Plain, on the east bank of the downstream Kiso River. The area developed in a delta at the mouth of the Kiso River, and the area retains a ring-shaped structure with a Mizuya and Sendohira Komon lock. Land improvement and inland water reclamation projects were undertaken early on, and the area is primarily focused on rice cultivation, with lotus root production and livestock farming thriving. In recent years, greenhouse horticulture for flowers, strawberries, tomatoes, etc. has been growing. In addition to textile and metal products, food processing, including pickles, is also carried out here.

愛知県西端,海部(あま)郡の村。人口8353(1995)。濃尾平野南部,木曾川下流東岸に位置する。木曾川河口の三角州に発達した輪中地帯で,水屋,船頭平閘門(せんどひらこうもん)など輪中景観が残る。早くから土地改良,内水面干拓事業などが行われ,米作を主体にれんこん生産や畜産が盛ん。近年花卉,イチゴ,トマトなどの施設園芸が伸びている。繊維工業,金属製品に加えて,漬物をはじめとする食品加工業も行われている。
