Family records from the Nara period. The Takahashi clan, also known as the Kashiwade clan, was the head of the Naizenshi (Inner Palace Bureau) along with the Azumi clan, but they struggled for leadership with the Azumi clan and frequently clashed, so in 789 (Enryaku 8), both clans submitted their family records. The records that are recognized as the Takahashi clan records submitted at this time are quoted and remain as "Takahashi clan records." They are only fragments, and do not remain as a complete book today. They are quoted in "Honcho Getsu-Ryo" and "Seiji Yoraku," and are said to include two articles and a Daijokanpu (Daijokanpu) from 792 that ruled over the dispute between the two clans. Article 1 of the records is very similar to the article for the 53rd year of the Keikō period in the "Nihon Shoki," and the relationship between them is noteworthy. Since the name of the Zenbe clan appears among the 18 clans that submitted "Sankhi" in 691 (the 5th year of the reign of Empress Jito), it is possible that the original family record may have included parts going back that far. This is an important source of information when considering the field of clan traditions in ancient literature and history.
