Medical Practitioners Act - Ishiho

Japanese: 医師法 - いしほう

The Basic Law on Medical Practitioners (1948) was enacted to repeal the wartime National Medical Care Law (1942), which replaced the old Medical Practitioners Law (1906). It stipulates the licensing of doctors, the national medical examination, and duties of doctors, and provides for the establishment of the Medical Ethics Council (investigating and deliberating on administrative measures for doctors and the improvement of medical ethics) and the Medical Practitioners Examination Committee (for affairs related to the national examination and preliminary examination).
