?-1200(Shoji 2) She was called the Minister of Justice, Third Rank, after the official title of her father, Norikane. She was the elder sister of Minister of Justice, Second Rank Kaneko (Kyo no Tsubone). She was initially married to Noen, who was the same mother as Taira no Tokiko, and gave birth to Arishi (later known as Jomyōmon'in). When Emperor Gotoba was born in 1180 (Jishō 4), she and her sister became wet nurses, but she did not accompany her husband or the Taira clan on their flight to the west, and eventually remarried to MINAMOTO no Michichika, taking Arishi with her. This contributed greatly to the expansion of Michichika's power, but compared to her sister's fierceness, Noriko herself seems to have been of a gentle nature, and is not known for any particular political activity.
