Japanese: ホシダ - ほしだ

An evergreen herb of the Thelypteridaceae fern family that often grows in colonies in warm mountain fields and roadsides. The rhizome runs long and horizontally, with sparse leaves. The leaves can approach 1m in height, with a simple pinnate surface and shallow to moderately lobed pinnae, with the lower pinnae sometimes being slightly shorter. The pinnae can be sickle-shaped, about 15cm long and 1.3cm wide. Each lobe has 7-9 pairs of simple veins, with the lowest vein connecting with the lowest vein of the adjacent lobe to form a reticulated vein. This type of venation is characteristic of the Thelypteridaceae reticulated venation, forming a square-shaped mesh.

暖地の山野，路傍にしばしば群生するシダ植物ヒメシダ科の常緑性草本。根茎は長く横走し，葉をまばらにつける。葉は高さ1mに近づくことがあり，葉面は単羽状で羽片が浅～中裂，下部の羽片が多少短くなることがある。羽片は鎌形になることがあり，長さ15cm，幅1.3cmくらい。裂片の小脈は7～9対，単生，最下の小脈は相接する裂片の最下の葉脈と連結して網状脈をつくる。この型の脈はヒメシダ科の網状脈に特徴的で，四角形状の網目をつくる。
