A Neolithic site located about 30km north-northwest of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It is 120m x 60m in area and 5.5m in height. Since 1952, the Southern Turkmenia Archaeological Survey has been excavating the site, contributing to the elucidation of the early agricultural society of this region. Of the Jaytun culture that VM Masson considered to consist of early, middle and late periods, this culture best represents the early culture. Of the five layers of the site, the second layer has been widely investigated. Located in a delta in a belt area between the Kopet-Dag Mountains and the Karakum Desert, the people relied on primitive agriculture and livestock farming due to flooding.
