Rice planting song - Taueuta

These are labor songs sung during the rice planting work. They are diverse, praising the rice field god, praising or resenting the field master, and lamenting the hardships of the work. They are rich in ritual and performing arts elements. "Taue Soshi" was compiled in the late Muromachi period and conveys traditional folk songs from the Chugoku region.
