Premature separation of the placenta

Japanese: 胎盤早期剝離 - たいばんそうきはくり（英語表記）premature separation of the placenta

A type of abnormal birth. The placenta detaches from the uterine wall before the fetus is delivered. Generally, it refers to abruptio placentae previa and (normal) abruptio placentae, the former simply being called placenta previa. In abruptio placentae, the placenta, which was implanted in the normal position in the uterine body, detaches before the fetus is delivered, causing bleeding between the placenta and the uterine wall and forming a hematoma. This hematoma gradually grows, causing further separation of the placenta, and some of it passes through the gap between the uterine wall and the amniotic membrane, causing genital bleeding.

異常分娩の一つ。胎児娩出以前に胎盤が子宮内壁からはがれること。一般には前置胎盤早期剝離に対して(正)常位胎盤早期剝離のことを意味し，前者は単に前置胎盤とのみよばれている。胎盤早期剝離では，子宮体部の正常位置に着床していた胎盤が胎児娩出より早く剝離し，子宮壁との間に出血を起こし血腫を形成する。この血腫は，しだいに増大して胎盤の剝離をさらに進行させるとともに，一部は子宮壁と卵膜との間を通って性器出血を起こす。
