Daqing River (English spelling)

Japanese: 大清河 - だいせいが（英語表記）Dà qīng hé

One of the five major tributaries of the Haihe River, flowing through central Hebei Province in northern China. Also called the Shangxihe River. The Tang River originating at the southern foot of Mount Hengshan in Shanxi Province, the Joma River originating in the Taihang Mountains, and the Zuolong River originating in the Taihang Mountains are the upstream rivers. These rivers gather in the low marshes east of Baoding to form the Baiyangdian, and the river that flows downstream is called the Daqing River. The Daqing River merges with the Ziya River west of Tianjin and flows into the Haihe River. With a length of 448 km, the upstream part has many tributaries, a short rapids, and poor drainage downstream, so floods were frequent in the past, but the independent flow of the river has been reduced downstream and many flood control dams have been built upstream, so floods have almost disappeared.

中国，華北の河北省中部を流れる海河五大支流の一つ。上西河ともいう。山西省の恒山南麓に発する唐河，太行山脈に発源する拒馬河，潴竜（ちよりゆう）河などをその上流とし，これらの諸川が保定東方の低湿地帯に集まって白洋淀を作って以後流下する河道を大清河と呼ぶ。大清河は天津西方で子牙河と合流したのち，海河に流入する。長さ448km，上流部は支流が多く，流路が短い急流で，下流の排水が悪いため，かつては水害が頻発したが，下流に独流減河ができ，上流に多くの治水ダムを建設したので，水害はほとんどなくなった。
