Takemi Ishikawa
Born: October 13, 1887 in Oita
[Died] January 5, 1961. Founder of Shizuoka Shufu no Tomosha. Initially worked in the editing and sales department of women's magazines at Dobunkan, and in 1916 went independent and launched Shufu no Tomo (renamed Shufu no Tomo in 1953). She established the genre of practical magazines for housewives. After the Great Kanto Earthquake, she supported Tokutomi Soho's Kokumin Shimbun, which was in dire straits. In 1950, she became president of Tohan.

主婦の友社の創立者。初め同文館で婦人雑誌の編集,営業を担当し,1916年に独立して『主婦之友』 (1953年『主婦の友』と改題) を創刊。家庭の主婦向けの実用雑誌というジャンルを確立。関東大震災後には窮境の徳富蘇峰の『国民新聞』を援助した。 50年東販社長。
