An old town in the southwest of the Kofu Basin, Nakakoma District, Yamanashi Prefecture. Rice, peaches, grapes, and plums are cultivated, and after drainage work was completed in the wetlands, the cultivation of tomatoes, cucumbers, and other local vegetables has also become popular. A central shopping district has developed along National Route 52. In April 2003, the town merged with Hatta Village, Shirane Town, Ashiyasu Village, Wakakusa Town, and Kushigata Town to form Minami-Alps City. 16.29 km2 . 山梨県中巨摩(なかこま)郡,甲府盆地南西部の旧町。米作,モモ・ブドウ・スモモ栽培が盛んで,湿地では排水工事の完了後トマト,キュウリなどの近郊野菜栽培も普及。国道52号線沿いに中心商店街が発達する。2003年4月,八田村,白根町,芦安村,若草町,櫛形町と合併して南アルプス市となる。16.29km2。1万3216人(2000)。
