An Iranian religious leader (ulama). Born in Tareghan, Iran. After studying at the Rezabiyeh and Fayziyeh schools in the holy city of Qom, he taught at Sepahsarar School. Around the time of World War II, he openly engaged in anti-government activities, and was repeatedly arrested, imprisoned, and exiled. During this time, he organized the Iranian Liberation Movement Nehzat-e Āzādī ye-Īrān with Bazargan and others in 1961. During the Iranian Revolution, he played a leading role as the leader of the ulama in Tehran.

イランの宗教指導者(ウラマー)。イランのターレガーンの出身。聖都コムのレザビーエ，フェイジーエ両学院で学んだ後，セパフサーラール学院で教鞭をとった。第2次世界大戦ころから公然と反政府活動を行い，逮捕･投獄･追放を繰り返した。この間，1961年にはバーザルガーンらと〈イラン解放運動Nehzat‐e Āzādī ye‐Īrān〉を組織。イラン革命に際してはテヘランのウラマーのリーダーとして指導的役割を果たした。
