Roving frame - Sobouki

Japanese: 粗紡機 - そぼうき

In the spinning process, this machine stretches the sliver (thick fiber bundle) and lightly twists it to make a robe (coarse yarn). There are various types of spinning frames, such as the spinning frame, the spinning frame, the varnishing frame, and the fine varnishing frame, but nowadays it is common to use only the single spinning frame, which combines the spinning frame and the varnishing frame. In all cases, the twisting is done by a flyer. The robe is then sent to the fine spinning frame.

紡績工程のうち，スライバー（太い繊維束）をさらにひきのばし，軽く撚(よ)りをかけてローブ（粗糸）にする機械。始紡機・間紡機・練紡機・細練紡機などがあるが，現在は始紡機・間紡機を一つにした単紡機のみを使うのがふつう。いずれも撚りかけはフライヤーによる。作られたローブは精紡機に送られる。
