In Arabic, a tent is called a khayma, and even in permanent houses, the nomadic tent (see image) is the basic structure. The roof and walls of a tent are often made of 30-50 cm wide strips of animal hair glued together.

Bedouin life has not changed much since ancient times, and they have a culture centered on movement. Their homes are dark tents called bayt sha'ar or khayma, which are suitable for mobility. They are made of goat or camel hair and woven to allow good ventilation, and when it rains, the wool expands to prevent rainwater from passing through.
