A monk from the Song Dynasty in China. The founder of the Yunmen sect (Zen Buddhism). Born in Suining Prefecture. His pen name was Yinzhi. He was known as Xuedou Chongxian. He became a monk at a young age and first studied under Renxun at the Pu'an Temple in Chengdu, but later studied under Chimen Guangjo. In his later years, he lived at Zisheng Temple on Mount Xuedou and was given the title of Master Mingjue by the imperial court. His major works include the Records, Xuedou Songgu, and Zuyingshu.

中国,宋の僧。雲門宗 (禅宗) の中興の祖。遂寧府の出身。字は隠之。雪竇 (せっちょう) 重顕として知られる。幼少の頃に出家し,最初成都普安院の仁銑に師事したが,のちに智門光祚に師事した。晩年は雪竇山資聖寺に住し,朝廷より明覚大師の号を賜わった。主著に『記録』『雪竇頌古』『祖英集』などがある。
