It refers to comprehensive pest control that does not rely solely on chemicals, but instead makes flexible use of cultural control methods that grow crops healthily and remove diseased leaves, and methods of controlling pests using natural enemies, disease viruses, attractants, and repellents. Pest control using pesticides was useful for eliminating pests that are harmful to crops, but it was developed because of the negative aspects that have become apparent, such as killing beneficial insects and causing previously hidden pests and pollution.
