Wartime Inflation - Wartime Inflation

Wartime Inflation - Wartime Inflation
Inflation in the domestic economy caused by war. When a nation wages war with all its might, favorable conditions are created for inflation to occur. First, the cost of war is huge compared to current tax revenues, and most of it is financed by an increase in deficit bonds (public debt). As a result, on the one hand, there is a strong possibility that aggregate demand will expand indefinitely, creating an inflationary gap. On the other hand, the increase in issuance of government bonds will lead to an increase in the issuance of currency through wartime financial controls, which will cause sustained inflation.
